An Ibadan, Oyo State-based nurse, Mariam Oyelami, has emerged as the winner of a three-bedroom house in the ongoing Glo Festival of Joy promo.

Telecommunications giant, Globacom, presented the lucky nurse with the key to her house, in another fulfilment of its promise of rewarding its loyal subscribers with amazing prizes.

Speaking when she was presented with the key to her house, Nurse Oyelami said skepticism was her first reaction to the good news.

“I have been a victim of fraud before. When I receive suspicious calls, I just shut down, like I did.


“Now, I believe that I have, indeed, become a home-owner in Nigeria, courtesy of Globacom.

“I am still struggling to find the right words to thank Globacom for coming up with this unprecedented customer reward programme which I have become a beneficiary of.

“I am most grateful,” the happy 25-year-old nurse said.

The presentation of the house to Nurse Oyelami was held at the house address in Oluyole Local Government Area of the state.

It was attended by the zonal representative of the National Lottery Commission, Mr. Kayode Ojoogun and representative of the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC), Mr. Akinwale Akanbi.

Also in attendance were Nollywood actors, including Bolaji Johnson Amusan (aka Mr. Latin) and Tunde Usman, while it was anchored by ace comedian, Godwin Komone (aka Gordons.)

Sales Coordinator (West Territory), Globacom, Mr. Akeem Yusuf, said “Glo Festival of Joy promo was initiated in celebration of our customers’ loyalty to the brand.

20 units of houses, 24 cars and hundreds of power generators, sewing machines and rechargeable fans have been won in the promo.
