2022: House of Reps Hopeful, Akinwale, Tasks Nigerians On Patriotism

A Federal House of Representatives aspirant, Akinwale Akinwole Solomon, has said the major solution to all the challenges bedeviling Nigeria is for all the citizens to be patriotic and be committed to the development

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in a new year message to Nigerians said it is the grace of God that has been sustaining the country.

Akinwale said, for the country to move beyond where it is and achieve better growth the people have to be more patriotic, obey the laws of the land and remain committed to the vision of the forebearers.

He said Nigeria has all it takes to be great in terms of human and natural resources but leadership problems and uncooperating attitude of the followers, as well as poor implementation of policies, are responsible for the poor growth and economic situation we found ourselves.

“We cannot continue this way. Let us all envision and work towards Nigeria of our dream, a nation where all and sundry live in peace with economic prosperity.

“We must have a nation where residents and citizens will have access to basic and qualitative education, functional and effective healthcare delivery system, infrastructural development and availability of basic amenities.

“All these are possible if we are all ready to let the love for our nation overwhelm crave for selfish and personal aggrandizement.

“So as we begin another journey in 2022. Let us all think of how best we can make Nigeria a better country. Let us all play our role and remember our leaders in prayers. I wish us all fruitful years,” he said.

Akinwale commended the Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, saying “His impact is everywhere and there is no doubting the fact that his remarkable achievements in the last 31months have given the state a new face and status.”

The Ogbomoso-born entrepreneur said his political interest is a response to calls from people, personal conviction, and the desire to effect a positive development in the society.

He said: “And after wide consultation, I am ready to represent the people of Ogbomoso North/South/Oriire Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.

“My vision is to let the voice of our people be heard more than ever, facilitate more developmental projects as well as represent the interest of the younger generation, youth, women, and the aged in our constituency.

“Ogbomoso is the place of my birth. During my formative years, I have traversed through the length and breadth of the five local government and I know where the shoe pinches.

“Subsequent lawmakers have been trying their best but their impacts have not been strong and effective enough in addressing the challenges.

“It is on this premises that I think, as a responsible and cultured indigene who is passionate about the growth of the people and the town. I am ready to serve and provide adequate representation at the National Assembly and ensure that our people enjoy dividends of democracy.”
